Duke Lands Australian Guard Luke Paul for 2027 Class
Luke Paul, a 6-foot-6 Australian point guard considered a potential lottery pick for the 2028 NBA Draft, has committed to Duke, according to ESPN. He joins the Blue Devils' 2027 recruiting class under head coach Jon Scheyer.
Paul built his reputation this year at the FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey, where he represented Team Australia and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. He also plays for the Cairns Taipans. His future Duke teammate, Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, was named tournament MVP at the same event. futsal bet
Paul becomes the second known commitment in Duke's 2027 class, joining four-star forward Kager Knueppel, the younger brother of Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel. The pairing reflects Scheyer's growing emphasis on recruiting internationally alongside the traditional domestic pipeline.
Scheyer has built Duke into a consistent national power since succeeding Mike Krzyzewski, but a national championship has not yet followed. With two early commitments in place for 2027 and additional top targets still being pursued, the program's recruiting momentum continues well ahead of the players' eventual arrival on campus.
